My brother has red hair, light skin, and freckles.?

no one else in my family does. (black/brown hair and dark)

is he normal?

My brother has red hair, light skin, and freckles.?

Yeah--red hair is a recessive trait, meaning that it only shows up if a person has genes from both parents for it. So your parents had genes for it, but because the genes were recessive, they didn't show up in anybody. If you go back in your family tree, though, you'll find redheads on both sides several generations in the past.

My brother has red hair, light skin, and freckles.?

hesd normal 'cause it could be a recessive gene

My brother has red hair, light skin, and freckles.?

yes he is "normal". This could be the genes from a far away annsestor or somthing. Genes could from as far back as 100 years for famialy.

My brother has red hair, light skin, and freckles.?

are you sure none of your grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, has this? If he's not adopted or anything he had to get it from someone. Even your great great grandparents couldve had red hair and thats where he got it from. Of course hes normal!

My brother has red hair, light skin, and freckles.?

Yup! I come from a family that has all dark haired people in it, but in each part of my extended family, the first born in each family (my cousins' families) has red hair, light skin and freckles. I am one of them, LOL! We have a Scottish heritage and its not uncommon for that to happen. Red hair is not a dominant trait and won't always come out in everyone in the family (that is actually rare). Tell your brother to be proud to be a Ginger Kid!!

My brother has red hair, light skin, and freckles.?

Nope, he's either some kind of albino or your mum has some explaining to do!

My brother has red hair, light skin, and freckles.?

yes ,he don't act weird do he ?

My brother has red hair, light skin, and freckles.?

Everyone is right about the recessive gene. If you have any European, Middle-eastern, North African, or West Asian background in your family it is definitely possible. As far as your little brother being normal that is open speculation. I had a little sister and little brother growing up. I didn't think they were normal. My sister was older than my little brother and she definitely didn't think he was normal. Come to think of it she didn't think I was normal either.

Is red hair attractive to men??

I dyed my hair brown but it's starting to go back to my natural auburnish color...thankfully i don't have freckles though. If you're a guy....or girl.....please answer this question!

Is red hair attractive to men??

red hair is my most favorite, though I prefer natural red heads. Some people don't have the right skin color to make a really good red head, in fact on some people, red hair makes their skin look kind of green. Most natural reds are very fair skinned

Is red hair attractive to men??

I suppose it's natural to want to see what it would be like to have different color hair, but when your Red, there is nothing more appealing!!! Report It

Is red hair attractive to men??

a lot of guys think red heads are adorable

Is red hair attractive to men??

Yes it is

Is red hair attractive to men??

Yes, I know a lot of guys that love red heads!!

Is red hair attractive to men??

no freckles is good. Lots...not so much...

Is red hair attractive to men??

i hope so!!!

i'm a red-head too!!!!

Is red hair attractive to men??

Thats asuuming all guys like the same thing, they don't. Some will find it attarctive, some dont. I cant do anything more, as no two guys are the same in what they like.

Is red hair attractive to men??

imma redhead and i'd say im cute! i got freckles too, they're also cute!!!

Is red hair attractive to men??

Yes, men are attracted to all women whatever shape or hair colour. People seem to think that blondes get all the guys, but thats not true. If a man see's you being confident, no matter what hair colour, he'll probably like you for being such a strong charecter and not being obsessed in impressing other people.

I have red hair- so?

is it true that i should stay away from pink, orange, and red shirts? i know a lot of people think it looks awkward, but i dont know.. what do you guys think??

I have red hair- so?

i have red hair- i agree.

i stick to green, brown, white, yellow, black, blue..... just make it work with your skin tone too!! (no light blues light yellows....)

I have red hair- so?

Be yourself, do not listen to them

I have red hair- so?

red hair is great and red hair can loook good with pink red and orange shirts also yellow

I have red hair- so?

i think yes try light blue, brown and white that brings out your eyes and hair

I have red hair- so?

i don't really see a problem w/ it, it kinda brings out the color of your hair. what would be even better is to pick a color that matches your eyes!

good luck!

I have red hair- so?

green and blue look beautiful with red hair

I have red hair- so?

It's not so much your hair color as it is skin tone. If you have extremely pale skin and very red hair (like me) I tend to look like a tomato, brings out the red tone in my skin. Red I have actually found I can get away with, as long as it's blue bases red and not orange based. (like dark wine tones, ruby, magenta, burgundy, etc.) I personally don't were the color pink, so I don't know how it would look on me but I have seen strawberry blonds wear pink on their upper half and look ok. I also tend to avoid light pastel shades of colors like blue, yellow, and orange. Especially yellows, I think it makes me look jaundice. But if you wear it and you think you look good and you get compliments, then wear it with confidence, that's how most fashions look good on people.

Would the baby have RED hair or BROWN?

1. Which is the dominant trait brown or red?

2. And if one parent had freckles, would the child most likely get freckles?

3. More likely to have blue/green or brown eyes?

I'm just curious, I'm not preggo or anything again.

Would the baby have RED hair or BROWN?

1. In order to have a red head both parents need to carry the red gene. So brown would dominate.

2. Don't know. I have freckles, and all three of my kids have them.

3. Supposedly brown is dominant, but I proved that wrong with two blue eyed blondes.

Would the baby have RED hair or BROWN?

I only know the answer to number 3 - The eyes will be brown. Brown is more dominant over blue and green.

Would the baby have RED hair or BROWN?

red hair is more dominant, so are freckles and brown eyes.

Would the baby have RED hair or BROWN?

1. Brown

2. There is a good chance.

3. Brown

You could always visit with a geneticist if you want all your odds.

Would the baby have RED hair or BROWN?

Brown hair is dominant.

freckles are a recessive trait.....so it would go back into your parents and his....if any of them have freckles

and brown eyes are dominant, blue are recessive

Would the baby have RED hair or BROWN?

well it is really hard to say. I know they say one is dominant but not sure which. I know in my dads family red and blonde are more common but there are people with brown and black. On my moms side brown is the common color but there are a lot of blondes being born lately on that side as well. In my moms family brown eyes are dominant but on my dads side everybody seems to be born with blue even when one parent has brown (usually that married into parent). I have a son with brown eyes and a son with blue/hazel eyes and I have blue and their dad has hazel.

Would the baby have RED hair or BROWN?

The dominant trait is brown. However, your questions #2 and #3 are almost impossible to predict. For example, two parents could both have brown eyes, and their newborn is born with blue eyes. It depends on the entire family traits. My husband and I both have naturally brown hair, however our son was born with bright red hair. You can not just simply predict what an unborn child will look like.

Would the baby have RED hair or BROWN?

The thing with brown hair and red hair is, that brown is a dominant trait, yes, but red hair is actually a different allele. Getting red hair is a recessive trait, you have to get a gene from both parents. However, if a person with red hair has a baby with someone who does not have red hair, say a blond, the baby could have blond or brown hair because the red hair trait would have no affect without its counterpart.

Feckles are a dominant trait, so there is a 50/50 shot of getting the gene from one parent. The odds can go up depending on the allele make up of each parent. Example, both my parents have freckles. My sister and I also have freckles. I either have 2 genes for freckles, or just one maybe. My husband also has freckles, so the odds that our kids would have them are VERY high (if we had kids).

As for eyes, it depends on what you are starting with. Brown is dominant over green and blue, but green is dominant over blue. There are actually 4 different genes on 2 different chromosomes that code for eye color, so that's why we all have varying shades of colors. Both my parents have green eyes, I have green eyes, but my sister has blue eyes.

One thing to take into account with the red hair gene though is that it is often accompanied by a fair skin/freckles gene, and is rarely split while crossing over during meiosis. This particular trait isn't associated with the normal freckles/ fair skin trait. It's a very special trait, which is why most people with red hair have pale skin and freckles.

An interesting case involves my husband and his sister. They are from El Salvador. Both their parents have dark tan skin, dark eyes and hair, your typical Hispanics. However, my husband and his sister have the brightest red hair you have ever seen, pale skin, and tons of freckles. You'd think they were Irish until you hear their names! Now, his sister married a white guy. However, he has no red hair in his family. It pretty much looks like they kidnapped their kids. The kids have dark skin, dark eyes and hair, just like her parents. Without the red hair trait to cover it up, that's what her kids were programmed to be!

Genetics, they absolutely fascinate me. Always have.

Dying red hair to dirty blonde/ darker blonde?

Its about the shade of lindsay lohans hair but it's getting really boring. If i do it myself will i have to bleech it before dying, or should i just not bother doing it at home and go to a professional.

Dying red hair to dirty blonde/ darker blonde?

You need to definitely go to a salon to have it done. Red hair is the toughest to bleach because of all the red pigment in it. When you bleach hair, what you're trying to get out is the red so naturally red hair is harder to bleach. DON'T DO IT AT HOME. You don't know the correct measurements and ratios of bleach to cream, etc. You will end up damaging your hair and turning it bright orange.

Go to a salon and bring a picture of exactly what color you want. If you don't have a picture ask the salon if you could look at one of their hair color books/magazines to show them what color you're wanting to go. Because if you don't have a picture, you risk it coming out different than what you pictured in your mind :)

Dying red hair to dirty blonde/ darker blonde?

please go to a professional that knows what she OR he is doing. Also it will be more cheaper for you in the long run, just in case you screw up and have to buy another set of dye. FYI: if your lite skinned...blonde would be the best choice.

Dying red hair to dirty blonde/ darker blonde?

I would go 2 a professional, cuz sumthin might go wrong n there is no goin back.

Re-Dying Red Hair?

3 weeks ago I dyed my hair using a Garnier home kit. 3 weeks later it's faded and I want to try a new brand/color. Should I wait for it to fade for longer?

Re-Dying Red Hair?

You don't need to wait for it to fade any longer, especially if it's only three weeks. Red hair dye fades the quickest because the red molecule isn't able to fit completely through the cuticle of the hair and slips out, so if the fading is what you want to change the brand for, then don't worry about it. I get my hair dyed every month and a half to two months, but in between I use a toner to keep the redness in.

just please don't resort to henna - it's hair suicide
