I have dark brown hair can i get this colour. Do I have to go to a salon, or can i go to a store and purchace this colour, what brand of hair dye do u recommend me to buy. Should I bleech my hair first.

You can go to a beauty supply store and mix a color charm yourself and add your own peroxide, using two or more different colors to get the effect you like or you can get a boxed dye and hope for the best. Loreal has come intense reds. I believe they have a line specifically for red.

and don't listen to Chris above me... People that don't know, shouldn't give such advice. If you bleach your hair first it will turn pink or worse... fall out! Red dye responds better to a dark base...

i think loreal color pulse makes a temporary one that lasts about 10 shampoos. see if it makes the desired color and if not you might want to visit a pro.

i don't think you would have to bleach it first. you can get this color at a drugstore or go to a beauty supply store is what i would do.

Since you have naturaly dark hair, I would bleach it first or the color may not take. I think the brand name was 'punky colors' that made the last good fire engine red I saw, and should be availeable at Hot Topic or any other goth/punk supply shop.

You can get it at a beauty supply store. Or you might try mixing a strawberry blonde shade with an auburn shade. If that doesn't work for you then your best bet is to go to a beauty shop and have a pro do it for you. The know all the secrets. Try the beaty supply store first. Ask them for help. They will give you a much better suggestion. With your color of hair you will need to strip it first. Bleach it out to almost white then apply your color. good luck.

You sound like one of my nightmare clients waiting to happen. Doing things like that at home is dangerous and often leads to a costly session in a salon trying to fix what you have done if it can be fixed at all. I am currently waiting to see the end result of a lady who tried to bleach her own roots. She came in about 4 hours ago and we still have a way to go to match the blonde with the brown, ginger and various yellows and orange she had when she came in.
