Can I dye my hair red at home?

I have medium dark blonde hair with natural brown-black highlights. I want to dye my hair fire-engine red at home, but only want it to last for about a month. I will be swimming a lot in the next 2 weeks.

Will it work well to start with, and will it stay well?

Fudge it with hot chilli (the name of the colour) it will ast from 10 - 20 washes depending on how much u wash it ect n will wash out n it wont look weird with ur eyebrows like somone said I have bright red hair(faded a bit now cos Im to lazy to re dye it atm) n it looks good chek it out, Ive even had my partners hair the bright red ur wanting mines a bit darker but yeh u got good hair u dont need to bleach it lucky

You can actualy try this product @ Walgreens called "Splat!" and it fades away unless you keep applying color to it. There are a lot of semi-permanent dyes. you can even check amazon.com! btw, there's a red and a blue color of splat.

Absolutly not. I have fire engine red highlites I do them every two weeks and after one they are faded such is the nature of red hair color. And if you're swimming forget it. I'm sorry to say but it will not last a month if it even last through the two weeks of swimming. And coloring your hair a bright crazy color at home is not a good idea to begin with there is lots of room for error--Licensed cosmetologist for 3 years
