Know anything about henna for dying hair red?

Does anyone know if this works well, where to find it, how well it stays in, what is does to the texture of your hair.....anything else

Any other suggestions to have crazy red (not afraid to be wild and bright, but not fire truck)

Henna won't lighten your hair, it won't make it really really red, and it's kind of messy and smelly.

Plus, you can't use regular dye over henna - you have to let it ALL grow out before you can use hair dye.

In my experience, however, it did seem to last longer than the dye does - I just didn't like not being able to do anything different once I did it. Dye is more fun, and you can do it more often (as long as you're prepared to go short if something goes wrong).

Henna can be found at most health food stores, usually not in normal supermarkets. There are two kinds: the clay type, and the liquidy type. The liquid one is WAY easier to apply, si I'd suggest using that. Thing is, Henna's are so ntaural and mild that they don't really DYE your hair; they HIGHLIGHT it. Like, if you have dark brown hair and you do a red henna, the most you'll get is pretty red highlights under sunlight. If you wanna go REALLY red, then you gotta use hard core hair dyes. However, Hennas in general (whatever color) are cool cuz they coat your hair in oil or something and make it softer.....
