I turned my daughters hair red, for a school play. now we want to turn it back her normal blonde. wh

My daughter is 12. she had dark blond hair with verering shades of light blonde highlights in it. she got the roll of Queen Elisabeth in a play. Now the play over and she wants her normal hair back. what do I Do. The red color was one of thoes 28 day wash out things from wal-mart. well it did not wash out.

Blonde hair grabs color, whether it is temporary or not, because there is no color pigment in blonde hair and therefore it will absorb any color that goes on it. Another thing, red is the hardest color to get rid of. Here are a few things you can try.But I recommend you take her to the best salon in your area. There is a soak cap that they can try, and that is where they put a solution on her hair and see if it will remove the color, but I wouldn't expect it to remove it all the way, and since it has been 28 days it may not do anything. You can have it bleached, but I wouldn't recommend that as it is very damaging to the hair. You may think about having highlights, or a cap frost this will not be her natural color but it will kind of break the red up and give her some blonde streaks. Also you could have a darker color put over the red such as a shade of brown and then streaked or chucked, this will probably give her the closest thing to her natural as you will get right now, or just give it time and let it grow out. Next time, buy a wig you'll probably come out alot cheaper than what you will to get her hair back to normal. Good Luck.

Keep washing, my friends have used fabric conditioner to fade the colour also a well known brand of baby hair shampoo

Try Vinegar and Salt with a squeeze of lemon. Works like a charm ;)

Dye it back to the blond it was. If it's a drastic color change it never completely goes away until it grows out. Go to a hair salon and they might give you better advice. I think there's something called a wash that might lighten it.

Well red is one of the HARDEST colors to get rid of, thats why it did not wash out. I suggest washing it several times alternating between shampoo and Dawn dish soap for a couple of days. If that still dosnt work then I suggest going to a professional~!!

Now you know you should not be carried away by advertisements.Hair grows from roots.Gradually blode roots start appearing.Within six to eight weeks or sometimes more(hair grows at different lengths in different seasons)hair grows from roots to full length. Then trim the hair out of her red color.

Well start her off by gettin blonde highlights put in her hair..eventually they will start fading and then..just totally die her whole head blonde..and it will all goback to normal and have a few shades of blonde in it :)

It sounds like you may have used a shade too dark for your daughters hair. This has happened to me and the hairdresser suggested bleaching but if not try using lemon juice mixed with water to get a little of the colour back. Your best best would be to take her to a salon and see what they suggest.

Go to a professional hair stylist. Red is very difficult to remove on your own and will not come out unless you see a hair stylist. You may damage her hair by doing it yourself. Those washout colors are considered permanent especially if they are dark colors or red. She will have to either grow it out or cut it off if you don't get it fixed by a professional stylist.

you shouldnt have done that. its a hard thing to change red to blond.just keep washing it it will have to be cut off eventually.
