I want to dye my hair red but want no roots.?

my hair is light brown i want to dye my hair red/auburn and i was thinking of the semi-perm ColorSpa Moisture Actif..it says lasts for up to 28 shampoos. No visible roots...does that mean that it will just fade away? or does anyone have any suggestions. i normally do the 8-10 shapoos..but thats only like a week..i want it in longer..but semi perm is the only one that will last longer and just fade and not give me roots?

anyone have any ideas or has used the product and knows if it just fades?

Semi perm colors don't leave harsh lines as they grow and most generally do fade out within 6 to 8 wks. If this is what you are wanting, first and foremost you need a good color shampoo. No matter if you use semi perm or perm color, reds fade faster than any other color there is. The color molecule is to large to penetrate the hair shaft and therefore just "sits" on it. I would definately use a semi perm color. You'll love it!

well you could try color spa, color pulse or clairol's natural instincts those are all semi- permament and work well.

That is the general idea for a semi permanent. However, if you just want the red color to your hair and no roots, I would recommend getting red hi-lights to your hair. As your hair grows out it still looks natural.

roots are always going to show over time: it's new hair growing in

Semi-perm doesn't always wash all the way out. And yes it just slowly starts to fade. There is no way not to have roots you just have to touch up the color when the new hair grows in. You could also try low lights of red which are permanent, and don't show roots as bad so they do not have to be touched up as much. Hope this helps!

firstly red always fades even permanent colors fade red is the fastest fading color, your best bet is to go with a permanent color because just like the semi permanents it will still fade, doesnt matter what brand you get it will fade, to keep the color in with permanent color for longer is to buy the redken shampoo and conditioner and treatment its a color stay one its great i have red in my hair and it stays longer then usual and hasnt faded as quick,
