Is there any way to dye my naturally black hair red without bleaching it?

i've had purple bangs for the past 4 years, but i bleach my bangs before dying them purple. i want to know if there's any way i can make my black hair red without bleaching it? not necessarily cyndi lauper red, but maybe just a red tint, because i don't mind bleaching just my bangs, but i don't want to bleach ALL my hair.

No, in order for the color to show the black color must be removed.

You can try to cellaphane or other tinting, but at first look your hair will mostly likely appear as before. The color may only be noticable in sunlight or reflect under other types of lumination.

Loreal makes a hair color called 'For dark hair only' You can get it in all different shades and no pre-bleaching is required. it uses a cream developer usually 30 volume is recommended with it. I've had a ton of customers use it (obviously they had dark hair to begin with) and their hair turns out looking pretty good.
