Best haircolor to dye hair red?

my natural haircolor is dark brown and I want to dye it red, not like crazy little mermaid red or anything but like a cool hip tone of red I was wondering what is the best haircolor to do that? I was going to buy revlon colorist in Dark Auburn but I'm not sure if it's going to be too dark and that i won't see a difference. has anyone used this hair dye in this shade?? or does anyone know any better ones to use to get the shade I want

I would get L'Oreal Feria. Or Clairol.

Just know this-- make sure you want red hair, because I dyed my hair red before, and I'm probably going to have to go back to the salon to get my hair color stripped or bleached. I've tried to get it out a few times, and it's not working. You can cover it up with a dark brown again (I did), but when you want to go lighter, it's hard getting rid of the red. But if it's what you really want, then go for it. I'm just letting you know so you don't make the same mistake I did.

You could get a semi-permanent color, I did that.

You'll end up with a lot of red where as dk brn hair already has red pigment. Why don't you try a natyral henna rinse and see how you like it first.
