Last December I bleached my hair to try to get it back to my natural one. After a few months and four inches of growing out I decided that I looked better when I had Auburn hair. I dyed it red and it was fine for a little while. The dye had fallen out and faded where my hair was bleached. I dyed it again thinking it was just lighter bc the color was lighter there. But it's definitely just not sticking.. Any dyes that anyone knows of that won't fall out?

no matter what you do, red will always fade. it doesn't matter if you get it done professionally or by box.
i know from experience.

Your hair is now very porous due to bleaching it. You can use a good brand of hair colour; but until it returns to natural, all hair colour eventually fades.
Goldwell, Wella, and L'Oreal all make quality colour. Still, using a good conditioner and a colour safe shampoo is important too. But all will fade after a few weeks.

It sounds like your hair may have been damaged from the bleach. That would be something to ask your hair dresser about.
But red in general is the quickest to fade. However, now they have new shampoos and conditioners that will help keep the red. There are some you can purchase at a drug store - ask the cosmetician for the best kind. Or you can probably purchase a better brand directly from a salon.
I haven't tried it yet, but I am told that it will hold the red hair colour right up until you would need touch ups. If that's true then its pretty impressive.
good luck, I hope that helps!

Dont do it yourself, go to a hair stylist.

I had the same problem last year. The best thing you can do is to go with a really dark color like a 6N (that's what I used). It does fade after a while but every 4 weeks or so, just dye it again and trim off about 1/4 of an inch every 4-6 weeks to allow your natural color to come through. Bleach is a pain in the bum and I know that I personally will never do it again!! My hair is finally back to being healthy after having it bleached back in November two years ago. Good luck!!

Your problem is not necessarily the dye. What shampoo and conditioner do you use? Most shampoos strip your hair of color unless you use a shampoo especially made for color treated hair. I would go to a beauty supply store and speak with them about your concerns. The general public can shop there and get good advice from the person behind the counter.

Once your hair has been lightened so much it needs a color filler so that the hair color does not fade. Basically you need to have a professional put it back in. And they will have to use a filler to make it stay. If it is overprocessed, they won't be able to do it at all. See a professional.

For a good result you really should have this professionally done. You can however prep your hair at home for the color service. Do several treatments of Extreme by Redken. Make sure you rinse out well. More of this product is not better, follow directions. The salon will fill the hair and mix the appropriate level and tone. A semi-perm will actually work better in this situation. Do not shampoo your hair again once color is removed for 24-48 hours. Use only color safe shampoo. Once color starts to fade alternate in an appropriate color depositing shampoo such as Artec. All hair color will fade. Look to recolor every 4-6 weeks. Best of luck.
