try the one n' only colorfix. it takes out all the dye %26amp; lets you start fresh.

what is your natural color? colorfix will only work if black is not your natural color.

You can't put a lighter colour over a darker colour without pre-lightening it. That's why you can't see the red over black.

You have to bleach your hair a little bit to lighten it to about a medium brownish colour. Rinse it out really well, towel and fluff dry, then put in the red colour.

You will have to recolour your hair every few weeks to maintain the red. I've been pretending to be a red head for 16 years or so. Trust me. You have to keep it up if it's the look you want.

Voila! Red hair.

how can your hair be black normally but not in the sun if you want a lighter colour you better have blond high lights a few to start of with then gradually build them up then when you had them in a couple of weeks then put a red on but if you have died your hair black you may have to Waite till most of it has grown out as a bleach will make it drop out
